Richard’s early career was as a teacher, writer, researcher, and consultant focused on the potential impacts of emerging technologies through his affiliations with the Aspen Institute and the Institute for the Future. For the past three decades, his primary focus has been on promoting the adoption and use of new digital technologies by older adults.

Richard is the founder and chair of Age Friendly Cupertino and is a member of the Santa Clara County Digital Inclusion Workgroup. A resident of Oak Valley since 1999, he has been working to build connections between members of that community and residents of The Forum.
