No question too small,
too large or too complicated

It’s only natural to have questions when you are considering a move to a retirement community like The Forum. It’s a complicated decision and not to be taken lightly. We understand that you have questions, so we’ve compiled the answers to ones we frequently hear. But please feel free to contact us for an in-depth conversation. We’re here to help!

There are different types of senior living communities, which are neighborhood designed for older adults who are looking to simplify their lives and enjoy a maintenance-free lifestyle. Some communities offer only one level or two levels of living, like independent living or independent living and assisted living. Others offer a complete continuum of care.

Life Plan Communities, also known as Continuing Care Retirement Communities, offer integrated services to provide care throughout the aging process. By offering a combination of residential accommodations, health services, and other amenities, a Life Plan Community helps you maintain your engaged and independent lifestyle. If and when more structured health care becomes necessary, a Life Plan Community is equipped to offer on-site services.

At Life Plan Communities, also known as Continuing Retirement Communities (or CCRCs), residents can enter the community in residential or independent living. If their health changes, they can move to a level of living that provides more care, such as assisted living, memory care or skilled nursing. Communities offer amenities and services such as dining, indoor and outdoor activities, outings, transportation, wellness programs, clubs, groups, performances, and more.

Anyone who is 60 years or older can be a resident at The Forum! People often think they need to wait to move into a community. They may say things like, “I’m too young, “It’s too soon” or “I’m just not ready yet.” But really, the earlier you move, the earlier you can enjoy the lifestyle at the community, make friends, and take advantage of wellness programs that can keep you feeling young and active for years to come. However, The Forum at Rancho San Antonio offers all levels of care, so moving here is a smart decision at any time.

Some important qualities to look for: a full continuum of care, financial stability, longevity of staff, high-quality rankings, a structure that gives you a voice in the community, lots of enriching programs and amenities and friendly residents and staff. You also want to find the community that fits your unique needs — whether you prefer an urban area or a beautiful natural setting, a large resident population or a smaller, more intimate size.

Independent senior living, sometimes known as residential living, is a type of neighborhood where residents live independently in their own apartments, villas, or other types of homes. Residents in independent living or residential living can live independently on their own with little to no support and can benefit from the community’s active lifestyle.

The Forum at Rancho San Antonio was founded as a resident-owned senior living community. An elected Resident Board of Directors provides financial oversight to the community, and helps ensure that your interests are well represented.

The day-to-day operations of the community are handled on-site by staff who work for a senior living management company retained by the Board. They provide key professional services and activities that help ensure a high quality of life at The Forum at Rancho San Antonio.

The Forum at Rancho San Antonio’s unique Life Plan offers you access to high-quality health care. With a focus on prevention, our Wellness Center offers a variety of fitness, nutrition and personal services to help you live independently and maintain optimum health. A team of physicians holds regular office hours, and transportation to local doctors’ offices is available.

Should the need arise, the Health Care Center provides assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care for temporary or permanent stays. The plan also provides for care at a pre-established rate that is substantially below the usual health care costs for the same services. This is key for long-term financial planning, and it can help free family members from the potential burden of caregiving responsibilities.
